Darrell Bourque on the Radio

YFP poet and former poet laureate of Louisiana Darrell Bourque will be reading the poems from Vision/Verse 3 on the KRVS (Lafayette-Lake Charles) poetry segment, "From the Poet's Bookshelf" which airs on Thursdays at around 3:30pm (can be 3:20 to 3:35 or so---they fit the segment into other programming) on 88.7 FM. The next series will begin with a couple of poems by Catharine Savage Brosman from a new work scheduled for release from LSU Press, and then the next 10 weeks will feature the poems from this year's Vision Verse project.

Be sure to tune in if you live in the Lake Charles or Lafayette areas.

Vision/Verse 3, Releases out of print...

Vision/Verse 3 was a great success, and the show was bigger and better than ever before. Many YFP releases sold out at the show. We are in the process of updating the sidebar to reflect all of our available and out of print releases.

J. Bruce Fuller/ William Lusk Coppage Dual Broadside

We are releasing a limited edition double broadside for the occasion of tonight's reading by YFP poets J. Bruce Fuller and William Lusk Coppage. The reading is at The Porch Coffee House in Lake Charles, LA, and is part of The Porch's First Friday Poetry Series. The broadside will be limited to 20 signed and hand numbered copies, which feature J. Bruce Fuller's "Night Fishing" on one side, and William Lusk Coppage's "Homecoming Game" on the other. For now these will be available only at the reading. If any copies are left after we may put them up in the Yellow Flag store.

We are proud to announce our newest release, Erica McCreedy's Venison. This limited edition broadside is signed and lettered by the author. We will officially release this broadside at the Bayou Writer's Conference on November 14th.

We have also reprinted two broadsides in a very limited release, Erica McCreedy's Driving Back from Houston (YFP-19) & J. Bruce Fuller's Counting Dust Devils: Early Season (YFP-05).

Bayou Writers Group Conference

The Bayou Writers Group (bayouwritersgroup.org) will be holding their annual A Bridge to Publication conference next weekend in Lake Charles, LA. Yellow Flag Press will be there selling our releases in the book room. YFP poet Erica McCreedy will also be there signing broadsides. We will also be unveiling a new release or two and maybe a few second pressings of some of our broadsides. More info will follow soon.

Lou Amyx's Paint (YFP-10) and Steven Brown's Consummation: A Doxology (YFP-11) have now sold out. Very few titles are still available from the Vision/Verse collection, and we only have very limited numbers of these left. Order Yellow Flag releases on the side bar.

Our next project is in the works now. We are proud to announce that we will be releasing a new broadside from poet Amy Fleury. Amy's first book of poems Beautiful Trouble won the Crab Orchard Series in Poetry's First Book Award. We will be announcing more details on this release as it finalizes. We are shooting for a late summer release.

We will be publishing 20 limited edition broadsides to accompany the Vision/Verse show at the Imperial Calcasieu Museum Opening May 1st. 10 poets will perform 2 poems that they have written that were either inspired by a local artist or inspired a local artist. The broadsides will be on display and available for purchase at the show. We will have a list of poets and titles when the last few are confirmed.
